Get to explore this breathtaking overland safari that offers the ultimate Tanzania nature experience. This twelve days journey includes all popular destinations in Northern zone Tanzania. Picnic lunch will be available during safari to allow full – day game drives and Cultural visits that’ll give you an insight into the traditional way of life.

DAY TO DAY ITINERARY

DAY 1

Arrive At Kilimanjaro International Airport

Arrive At Kilimanjaro International Airport and Ricktrackers & safaris representative will meet and drive you to Arusha for dinner and overnight

DAY 2

Tarangire National Park

This morning set off on a tour of the often overlooked Arusha National Park, dominated by a beautiful backdrop of Mount Meru. Visit the volcanic Ngurudoto Crater and the Momella lakes – a group of shallow alkaline lakes, which are home to many water birds including flamingos, Egyptian gees and fowls. 

Enjoy your lunch in Arusha before departing for Tarangire with a game drive on the way to your lodge/camp which lies hidden amidst the ancient baobab and grasslands of the Tarangire National Park.

DAY 3

Tarangire National Park

Embark on morning and late afternoon game drives in Tarangire National Park, a highly dense bushland with huge baobab trees , dominated by the valley of the Tarangire River. 

It is likely that you’ll encounter elephants and brightly coloured birds who loves the dry savannah. Embark on the early morning walking safari while enjoying time to relax at the lodge/camp between activities.

DAY 4

Lake Eyasi

After breakfast, drive to the scenic soda lake of Lake Eyasi on the southern border of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at this lesser- visited lake in the time for lunch at the camp.
This afternoon, meet the people that belong to the Nilotic-speaking Datooga tribe. Visit their homesteads and about the local way of life . 

Spend the night at the simple Kisima Ngeda Camp – a small and natural safari camp with thatched tents that is part of a 200 acre family owned farm on the edge of the lake.

DAY 5

Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast at the camp, head off on a morning visit to a local village where you’ll meet the Hadzabe tribe and see a demonstration of traditional bush skills. Then you’ll drive to the Ngorongoro highlands , with a Crater rim view en route before heading to the lodge/camp for the evening relaxation.

DAY 6

Ngorongoro Crater

Wake early for breakfast before setting off on a full-day game drive in the Ndorongoro Crater, the largest intact Crater in the world with forest areas inhabited by elephants and open savannah where lions roam. Descend 600 meters to the Crater floor and enjoy a picnic lunch.

DAY 7

Serengeti National Park (Central)

Leave Ngorongoro after breakfast and drive to OLDUVAI GORGE a steep-sided ravine that is one of the world’s richest and best preserved Archaeological and Paleontological sites before entering the world famous Serengeti National Park. 

This vast park teems with wildlife from small herbivores to large predators like lions, leopard and cheetah. Enjoy evening game drive on the way to your lodge/camp.

DAY 8

Serengeti ( Central)

Spend the whole day exploring the Serengeti on a full-day game drive with picnic lunch. This will give you a front-row seat to some of the greatest nature shows on earth and offers the best chance of seeing the Big Five out on the open plains.

DAY 9

Serengeti ( Western Corridor )

Leave the lodge after breakfast and head towards the Serengeti’s famous western corridor. The Serengeti national park is broadly divided into four areas, with the annual great wildebeest migration passing through the areas at different times of the year. You’ll get to explore the vastness of the park on a leisurely game drive all the way.

DAY 10

Serengeti (Western Corridor)

Head out on a full-day game drive in the wildlife-rich western corridor close to the Grumeti River. You’ll take a picnic lunch with you so that you don’t need to return to camp for lunch and can make the most of the incredible wildlife viewing opportunities.

DAY 11

Lake Manyara National Park

This morning you’ll be driving through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the Lake Manyara National Park.
You’ll have a picnic lunch on the journey before arrive at the lodge/camp in the late afternoon for an evening leisure after approximately five hours drive.

DAY 12

Lake Manyara National Park

Set off on a half-day game drive around the lake shore in the Lake Manyara National Park.
The park is located at the base of the Rift Valley Escarpment with a seasonal shallow soda lake that attracts numerous animals. A small but scenic park, it is richly populated, home to lions lazing in sausage trees, herds of elephants, large troops of baboons, pods of wallowing hippo and clouds of pink flamingos. 

Although the number of birds here fluctuates depending on the water level , so it is best to check if this is the main reason for visiting.
After lunch, there will be an option to visit Mto wa Mbu market which has been used as a trading post by several tribes for centuries and the only place where you can hear the four major African language groups spoken in the same area.
Drive back to Arusha where you’ll spend your final night or extend your stay .
