CULTURAL TOUR

Serengeti park has a long , rich human history (nicknamed Cradle of Mankind).

The earliest record of 3.6 million years ago , when three early human like creatures (OR HOMINIDS) walked across the Serengeti plains at a place now called Laetoli. The prehistoric people left a clear trail of footprints before the volcanic ashes fall and buried all the tracks and over the time ashes hardened and became rock , preserving the tracks.

The human story was recorded in the ancient walls of Olduvai Gorge where several skulls and related fossils of early hominids were found. Then Maasai people arrived in Serengeti back in 150 years ago. Visit the Olduvai Gorge Museum to learn more about the archaeology , history and culture of this area.
